Instrument RepairsOur factory trained engineers can repair most of the instruments we sell and support. Where specialist test or diagnosis equipment is required we use our close links to manufacturer's service departments to ensure repairs are carried out in the shortest possible time at the lowest possible costs.
Where an instrument is beyond economic repair we will offer a suitable replacement at a preferential rate.

Free ConfigurationAll products purchased through our webstore can be configured to meet your exact requirements free of charge at the point of purchase (unless the product you require is of a fixed build nature). This allows you to plug-and-play your instrument as soon as you receive it!

Thermal SurveysA thermographic survey examines electrical circuits and components that can often fail due to loose connections, arcing, overloads or unbalanced phases. An electrical fault of this nature is often invisible to the naked eye yet can pose a substantial fire risk. Our surveys, conducted by qualified thermographers, quickly and easily highlight these areas before they escalate to the point where a fire is started, or failures which in turn cause plant downtime, loss of production and are costly to repair.
Our qualified engineers have the capability and equipment to inspect the full spectrum of electrical systems, from HV/LV switchgear and busbar cabinets to control panels, fuse boards and motors.

CalibrationWe can offer in-house calibration certificates on all new or repaired instruments and an on-site calibration service traceable to UKAS standards.
Generally an "Electrical" calibration will suffice (where an instrument is tested against a simulated thermocouple or RTD signal) but where the utmost accuracy and confidence is required we can perform "System Calibrations" where the sensor is brought to a known temperature and both the sensor and instrument are calibrated together as a system.
We can also usually accommodate most "out of hours" requirements! |

Data Acquisition SystemsWhere a process does not warrant a full SCADA system, we have a range of data acquisition solutions, ranging from stand alone temperature loggers to high speed, high accuracy, intelligent networked systems.
Reading and logging frequencies from milliseconds to days can be accommodated allowing processes as diverse as tractors cutting peat in Irish bogs (yes, really!) to creep furnace monitoring, testing the material turbine blades are made from.

Instrument PanelsWe design, draw and build instrument panels for Power Stations, Chemical Companies, Food Processors and other Blue chip clients. We only build specialised systems with high instrument content, and all drawings must be client approved before manufacture. Our expertise and knowledge of how our instruments need to be applied and installed means these systems just go in and work with a minimum of process interruption and grief.

Easily swappable, up to date, modular instruments allow you to minimise spares holdings whilst maximising your spares coverage and allows your friendly local distributor (that's us by the way!) to react much more quickly to any breakdown situation that may occur.

Process Troubleshooting"The only substitute for experience is being sixteen", so you could ask someone straight out of school or use our experience to help find out what may be going wrong with your process, how production rates could be increased or energy saved. We challenge in house "convention" and usually get significant results for our clients.
The new control system for the furnace shown below could not achieve the required tolerances, so we worked out where the problems were, and designed a solution which allowed the furnace to operate well within the working limits specified.
The trick was to install IR sensors with background temperature compensation and a cost effective way of passing the background temperature to each of the 6 sensors -

TrainingAs knowledgeable professionals who spend most of the working day involved in the day to day setting up and configuration of control equipment we understand that you may not have all the necessary skills to support modern instrumentation across your site. We are happy to assisting in bringing your staff up to speed on the equipment we sell and support by offering "hands on" training sessions which can be at your premises or our offices.

Bespoke Test SystemsOur unique mix of experience and qualified engineers allows us to devise and implement cutting edge "end of line" or production test rigs and systems. For example, we have devised a novel way of testing wiring looms for Schneider saving time and money testing and pinpointing crossed, shorted or missing connections. This touchscreen based system can "learn" the configuration of a new product from a sample and can store up a virtually unlimited library of loom types.
We provide test systems for proving large industrial circuit breakers work to specification and a system for proving cooling air flows through turbine blades at rates between acceptable limits.

Support ContractsGenerally, our SCADA, Data acquisition and Production Test systems are so mission critical they warrant and deserve a support contract to ensure they continue running at peak efficiency.
Various levels of support are available from low cost remote assistance packages to full on site breakdown cover where we carry compatible spares for agreed key components to protect you from lengthy and costly process stoppages in the event of all foreseeable disaster scenarios. We ensure regular backups are taken which are held by us off site, so we can assist in your "Disaster Recovery" contingency plans.

Wireless TelemetryWe have designed and build systems for Power Stations and large Manufacturing Plants where previously unmonitored or new equipment remote from the main areas required monitoring in control room.
We also designed a system to allow 3 housing association tower blocks to have the heating "on" and "off" times remotely adjustable dependent on default monthly timings, manually adjustable to compensate for unusually warm or cold periods. It also recorded the temperatures and humidity and electrical power consumption. This simple system, working in conjunction with the existing control system saved an incredible amount of money.
